Tiffany Tzeng founded I AM in 2009, wanting to revolutionize editorial content in the Internet age, celebrate the millennial set, and be socially responsible. A media aficionado and virtual globetrotter, her favorite pastimes include binge-watching procedural dramas, grooving to jazz fusion, and mastering the art of cooking. She is currently a senior at Wharton concentrating in Finance and Marketing.
Felicity C. Sundlun was born in Manhattan and raised in Amagansett, NY. She first met I AM founder, Tiffany Tzeng, at Phillips Exeter Academy where she wrote a fashion column for the school newspaper, The Exonian. She is a recent grad of the University of Southern California with a major in Communications and a minor in Consumer Behavior. Following graduation, she hopes to return to New York and pursue a career in Fashion Marketing. She enjoys brunch, miniature dachshunds, and dry humor.
Danielle Cervoni was born and raised on Long Island, New York where she developed a love for writing, photography, and fashion. Studying Public Communications with a minor in Journalism at American University in Washington, D.C., Danielle also holds the position of Social Media Chair for American University’s student government. She is also interning at CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru where she writes about the hottest trends on college campuses in Washington, D.C. She is forever inspired by the energy and constant change of the two cities she’s currently living in.
Jenna Frank is currently studying at Cornell University and pursuing her love for fashion through their Fiber Science and Apparel program. A graduate of Rye Country Day School, she has had experience working for Kenneth Cole, Allure Magazine, and most recently Chanel through summer internship programs. Jenna initially discovered her interest in the fashion industry through her love of the fine arts; this industry represents the perfect confluence of business and creativity. Her three “must have” items are her grey cable knit cashmere scarf, a pair of perfect fitting blue jeans, and her plastic frame eyeglasses. In her free time, Jenna enjoys painting, hiking, playing soccer, and enjoying time with her close friends.
Born and raised in New York City, Justin Harmond is a senior at Columbia University studying Anthropology with a focus in Music and Business. He first realized his interest in the music industry in high school after founding Phillips Exeter Academy’s first hip-hop club, ERA. Since then, he continues to stay involved with the music scene, sitting on the board of the Columbia University Society of Hip-Hop (CUSH) in addition to having previously interned at Babygrande Records and iHipHop Distribution. Last summer, Justin took a break from working in music to explore his interests in advertising while interning for ad agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. This summer he continues to explore the interconnectivity between music and advertising, interning as a music specialist at Steve Stoute’s creative agency, Translation. In addition to that, Justin recently started his own company Reckless Abandon, a new music publishing and artist management venture. When he’s not living and breathing music, Justin spends his free time playing basketball, video games, and scouring tech blogs for the next big thing.
Sophia Berhie, 20, is from Huntington, West Virginia and currently lives in Abu Dhabi, UAE. She is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University where she majored in International Politics with a concentration in International Security Studies. She is pursuing a certificate in African Studies. She loves street style photographer Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist, grilled cheese, and tennis.
Shami Bery, Director of Marketing for Flight School Clothing and President of Tree Life Clothing, was born in India, where he lived for two years, before moving to the USA when he was 3. Currently residing in Roxbury, a borough central to the history and geography of Boston, he has been involved with fashion (through his company Flight School Clothing) and environmental issues (through various internships, both in India and stateside) for a number of years. Upon graduation from Brandeis University, combining these two passions came to fruition with the creation of Tree Life Clothing. While continuing his fashion endeavors, Shami is currently managing two of the rising stars in the Boston area hip-hop scene.
Tara Isabella Burton‘s essays, reviews, and travel writing can be found at Los Angeles Review of Books, The New Statesman, Salon, Guernica, The Rumpus, Condé Nast Traveller, and many other places. Her fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in Arc, Shimmer, The Doctor T.J. Eckleburg Review, and more. She is the winner of The Spectator‘s 2012 Shiva Naipaul Memorial Prize for travel writing and the author of the novel, A Thief in the Night, currently on submission. She is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and is currently a Clarendon Scholar at Trinity College, Oxford, working on a doctorate in theology and fin de siecle French literature.
Gabrielle Davenport is a senior at Barnard College where she majors in Africana Studies and minors in Spanish. Her interests in music and writing began to crystallize as she grew up in Oakland, California where everyone around her seemed to be creating something. These days, she spends most of her time in New York writing, singing, and thinking about food. She has written for The Metropolitan Jolt and Okayplayer and will be published in The Scholar & Feminist Online in the fall.
Lauren Davis is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and a senior at Princeton University majoring in Philosophy and Neuroscience. When not writing, reading, or confusing herself with big questions about brains, she enjoys walking around Hyde Park in London, illustrating children’s stories, and riding in equestrian jumping competitions.
Sophie Flecknoe is a writer and photographer from Sydney, with a focus on fashion and the visual arts. She studied at Sydney’s College of Fine Arts, majoring in Art Theory and History, as well as having studied Digital Photography, Design and Creative Writing. She has had experience at Cosmopolitan Magazine as well as acting as an assistant stylist for Emma Cotterill and Toni & Guy. She has written for The Raw Book, Pages Digital, Art Month, as well as collaborating with team members from Oyster Magazine, Ryan Kenny, Cara Stricker, Talisa Sutton and Darren Ankenman. Currently, Sophie single-handedly maintains Hall of Furs, an online destination of intellectuality and depth, featuring conversations with creative individuals and well-researched articles. She is also Editor-in-Chief of RAVE Live, a newly launched online publication, a platform for discussing and reviewing the vibrant culture of Sydney.
Aazim Jafarey is a senior at Columbia University majoring in Urban Studies. Originally hailing from the Greater Boston area where he graduated from Phillips Academy, Aazim is an avid music listener and hip-hop enthusiast. Born and raised in Hong Kong, with a brief detour in London, Betty Liao has grown up loving the fast pace of city life. She enjoys fine food, travel, design, and extreme sports – evident in her musings and founding of Penn Gastronomy Club and her Master Scuba Diver certificate. She is a recent grad of UPenn Wharton and working part-time at Marc Jacobs in NYC.
Amanda Shulman grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut, but now resides in Philadelphia where she attends the University of Pennsylvania. While she is studying Political Science and Journalism at school, she aspires to have a career in the culinary field. Last summer, she attended Le Cordon Bleu in Paris where she studied classical French cuisine and was named Top 5 in her class. She also interned at Food52.com where she worked in the test kitchen and on the editorial side. Past work experience also includes writing for Philadelphia Magazine‘s online food blog, Foobooz. Amanda is the author of Stay Hungree, a food blog on which she shares recipes, reviews restaurants, and divulges her culinary adventures.
Tida Wetwijittrakan was born in Bangkok, Thailand, with a last name changed by her Taiwanese parents for a Thai citizenship. Before she moved to Singapore to finish her degree in Fashion Marketing, she was an intern at Salvatore Ferragamo in Thailand and helped choreograph fashion shows for her University. Moving on to interning at STYLE Magazine under MediaCorp Singapore just next to Elle Magazine‘s department, she realized her passion for writing and connecting with people, and eventually joined a boutique catering company as a creative marketer. Her career in the food industry sparked her passion for photographing as well, and eventually, Tida became the Editor-in-Chief of the company’s online Food and Lifestyle publication, TASTE, where she does all the researching, copywriting, photographing, and editing single-handedly. With a mission to make the world a better place one person at a time, she spends most of her free time working for a non-profit organization – bringing self-realization to people through teachings of love and compassion through her Spiritual Master, Guruji Sri Sri Poonamji.
Emily Weiss is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania where she is studying computer science. She’s been copy editing since middle school, and is currently the head copy editor for the International Business Review at Wharton. Aside from being a programmer, Emily is a cartoonist and a teacher (as is evident in both the classes she TAs at Penn and her experiences for the past two summers, which she spent teaching computer science to kids). Her favorite things include running in the rain, long bike rides, Wawa hoagies, and proper comma usage.
Kerri Arfa is a Public Relations/Image Management major at the University of Miami. Born and raised in cosmopolitan New York, she experienced first-hand high couture and culture clash on her Euro trip last semester. The style conscious jetsetter has had stints at V Magazine, Nanette Lepore, and Diane von Furstenberg.
Koko Black is a senior majoring in Communications and English at the University of Colorado – Boulder. Born in Singapore, raised in New York, and spending most summers in France, her current style and fashion approach have been influenced by a variety of genres from all over the world. She has interned at Def Jam Records in NYC and is pursuing a career in the music industry.
CeCe Cole is a rising senior at Tulane University. CeCe has grown up with fashion, learning mostly from her mom and grandmother. CeCe loves combining high fashion with thrifted pieces. She will be spending the summer in NYC where she cannot wait to experiment with new fashion trends.
Laura Galvan grew up in Woodbury, Long Island and attended Towson University in Maryland. Laura transferred to FIT after a year, when realizing she needed to follow her dreams within the fashion industry. Now residing in Manhattan, Laura has a style website called So-Last-Year where she posts about her personal style and high fashion trend/news stories.
Kelsey Hooper is currently a rising Junior studying Graphic Design at the Art Institute of Boston and minoring in English. She is from Ottawa, Ontario Canada and has residences both there and in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This summer, she interned with AN Design in Ottawa, completing various print and logo designs. Kelsey excels in branding, advertising, editorial, typography, illustration, and web design. One of her hobbies is digital photography; she loves capturing night scenes and cityscapes. Paige Kaplan is currently studying Marketing and Psychology at Tulane University. While growing up on Long Island, she discovered and started pursuing her love for fashion at an early age. She has had many years of experience with Hermès and has been lucky to have the opportunity to travel with them to Paris and experience the many styles of the world. She hopes to combine both her creative aesthetic and marketing skills into styling and editorial photography for her future career. She finds beauty through the lens, but believes true beauty comes from within the soul.
Stefan Kohli, a 2014 graduate from Phillips Exeter Academy, is a freshman at Colby College where he plans to major in Biology. Although having grown up in Scottsdale, Arizona, Stefan picked up his love for photography in high school and began to venture into fashion and concert photography. He created a Sartorialist-inspired Tumblr blog ‘The Exeter Dress Code,’ featuring PEA’s daily fashion. Since 2012, Stefan has shot for brands such as Bodega, Pharrell’s Billionaire Boys Club, and The Quiet Life, with work featured in XXL Magazine, Complex, Hypebeast, and Business Insider. Jessica Margolis is entering her junior year at Tulane University and studies Psychology and Political Science. Her love of fashion and design began at a young age. Jessica’s wardrobe consists of classic pieces in addition to street wear to give her wardrobe an edgy twist. Jessica spends her summers working at local boutiques on Long Island and is constantly blogging the latest trends on her Tumblr and Pinterest.
Jen Mulrow is an Art major with a Photography concentration fresh out of Yale University. From Westchester, New York and a graduate of Deerfield Academy, she has interned at Nylon Magazine, collaborated with fashion brand Dahlia Wolf, and played Pikachu in an original Pokémon musical. Her personal style is Lolita-sweet with a fashion edge – when playful fabrics, pastel palettes, and feminine cuts meet leather jackets, unexpected accessories, and subtle mismatches. She wears pink lips with blue nails, likes Abbey Lee the best, and idolizes all things Sofia Coppola. Inspired by a summer abroad course in Paris, she started Photojenic, a fashion and photography blog.
Stephanie Siegel hails from the hoods of Great Neck, New York. The 20-year-old ventured out two years ago in hopes to gain something more. You can now find her living on the hill as a rising senior at the University of Colorado – Boulder. Stephanie or “Sunny” (as most call her) has a keen eye for photography, working at Complex Media’s SuperGlued and Rage Colorado. Carly Sloane is a senior at Tulane University where she majors in Communications. Her dream is to work as a writer at a fashion magazine one day. Elizabeth Elder grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the midst of spicy food and Native American jewelry. She has always had an obsession with fashion going as far back to the seventh grade where she strutted around in Versace pants. Teen Vogue captured her awesome style in a Spring campaign. She is currently a senior at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania studying marketing. Elizabeth has a strong interest in technology and is looking for ways to bridge the gap between technology and fashion.
Melissa Vela is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania, studying Economics and double minoring in Statistics and Consumer Psychology. Last summer, Melissa interned in marketing at Office Depot’s Global Headquarters and is currently a member of Penn’s American Marketing Association National Case Team.
